This green forest oasis is situated on the slopes of Constantia valley offers nature lovers and sports enthusiasts a place to wind down from the rush of the city. You can go for hikes up to the Elephants Eye cave or simply go for a long walk on one of the many paths zig zagging through the forest. If you are more into biking than try one of the many trails dedicated to you and your MTB.
The Tokai Arboretum was established by Joseph Storr Lister in 1886. Initially the Arboretum was used to test which trees and plants from other parts of the world would prosper in the area. This explains the wide variety of species still found in the forest today.
